This is an introduction to a new category on the website that I believe is important and easily forgotten. Sometimes, we seek our happiness from other people, extracting it even from inanimate objects. Examples like a significant other, money, a new phone, a new car, etc., can create a jolt of positive vibes, but those feelings don’t last a lifetime. The strongest source of pure happiness is going to come from yourself. You have the control to feel happy, sad, angry, but it’s common to lose that power. We are intelligent creatures, so why don’t we always make the smartest choices? Because we’re also human.
Human perfection is non-existent, we are going to eventually slip up and make mistakes. Some of this might seem like common sense, but we still have millions of individuals suffering from depression and/or a sense of loneliness.
Project Date Yourself is empowering who you are as an individual. It doesn’t mean be single forever or that you are too good to be with anyone. It’s showing someone else love while giving yourself the same effort. It’s not forgetting to take care of your needs. It’s like the clique quote: “You can’t love someone else until you love yourself.”
I’m going to share advice that I have found along the way, experiences I have been through myself, mistakes I’ve made, and hopefully anything I say can help someone out there reading.
Treat yourself with kindness, you deserve it! 😉
